Tidy Inspiration

I told my husband that I need some major help in my sewing room.  I just never know where to begin when it comes to organizing it.  He tells me it will be better when we have more space, and He is right... But I still could use some tips from these adorable rooms!
It's just so hard to be organized and crafty all at the same time...craftiness=messes.  But I know I can't use that as an excuse forever.  I gotta get in under control!  Maybe this will help.  Hope these rooms inspire you as much as they did me.

Pumpkin Daze Booth

So I've always wanted to try doing a craft booth.  My cousin Kara asked me about a month ago to do one with her.   We were so excited.  It was like we were finally gonna get to have our own shop...for a day.

Anyway...the day finally came, this past Saturday.  I loaded my car with all the goodies and ventured out in the dark morning fog to meet Kara.  (don't forget it's STILL dark out!)  Main street was only a couple minutes from her house...we were almost there.   I heard a noise, and lo and behold...I was being pulled over for the first time ever.  I suppose he was just doing his job, but I was not too happy about my slightly heafty ticket that I received for expired plates.

I tried not to let it ruin my day.  We got to our spot and Set up the tent (with help from Aunt Lynn and Uncle Stan...Thank you!)   It turned out looking really cute and super colorful.  We had lots of fun and learned lots about being shop owners ...for a day.  I had lots of fun with Kara and loved all the adorable things she made!  She is so talented.  She calls her line "dee dah" (idea taken from her little girl who sings those words often...so cute)

...oh, and my mom made the adorable hair clips you see in the green frame below.  If anyone wants one...let me know.  She is selling them...all are completely unique!

Thanks to all who stopped by!  We hope you enjoyed...

Old Luggage Make-over

I found this super fun vintage case the other day while thrifting. I've never seen one quite like it before. I actually still don't really know what it is...so if anyone does, let me know!  I had some ideas of how to spice it up so I had to get it.  It was such a unique little storage box. I thought I'd share my little craft with you.

Supplies you need:

1 fun storage container ( hat box, luggage, etc.)
scrap fabric
hot glue gun
a pen for tracing
...and a little bit of time

1) Collect some cute fabrics and get your adorable old luggage out.
 2) Cut out your fabrics in the design that you want
3) Lay them out on your luggage the way you want them before you begin gluing.

 4)  Glue your fabrics down with the hot glue gun.

 5)  If you want to cover the inside, it can add a lot of fun color...or cover up stains.

-Trace the outside of your luggage to get the overall shape.
-You may have to do some extra trimming to make it fit just right.
-Begin gluing, starting from one end, working out the wrinkles as you go.
... Wa La!

Easy as pie!
I hope you make one...it's lots of fun.  I'd love to see yours too!
